Small-leaved Linden

LISTEN
With a microphone, I wandered down the narrower streets of the CBD. I was drawn to one particular small-leaved Linden tree, because it was much smaller than its neighbouring counterparts and one of its branches had been snapped off. It seemed vulnerable to infection. I listened to the tree for about 8 minutes. Rather than my own perspective, the longer I stood with the tree, the more I saw the surroundings from the perspective of the tree itself. The environment is challenging for a tree. It seemed to be ignored by passersby. It's windy, surrounded by tall buildings, cars, noise and a bit of foot traffic.
CONCRETE
Since this initial experience, I visit the tree from time to time. I guess I'm looking out for it. I talk to it and gently touch it. I'm not sure that my presence makes the tree feel any better. Am I just assuaging my own disappointment for this tree? What else can I give?
